Jeff Borandi, DMD

Dr. Jeffrey Borandi is a Dentist Anesthesiologist. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Borandi completed a three-year certificate program in Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. There are only six Dental Anesthesiology programs of this kind in the country. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s hospital-based anesthesia program has the mission of preparing dentists to manage pain and anxiety in pediatric, adult and special needs patients by using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic techniques. At the completion of this program, the dentist is proficient in providing all levels of anesthesia services for ambulatory patients undergoing a variety of dental and medical procedures.

During his residency, Dr. Borandi successfully completed over 1500 cases in general anesthesia in the areas of dentistry, general surgery, ENT surgery and obstetrics. A part of his training was devoted to a comprehensive rotation with the renowned Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Borandi currently serves as a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Department of Anesthesiology. He is also a member of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is board eligible in both organizations.

Dr. Borandi is an avid Pittsburgh sports team fan and especially enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
